SCHOLA SARMENTI ANTIERI SUSUMANIELLO
Classification: IGT Salento Red
Region: Bullet
Grape varieties: Susumaniello 100%
Tasting notes: The wine has an intense ruby red colour.
Year: 2020
ANTIERI Susumaniello IGT Salento, is the last red wine born in the winery Schola Sarmenti in Nardò (Lecce/Puglia). A wine produced from Susumaniello grapes, which completes the offer of wines produced from indigenous vines. ANTIERI reflects the philosophy of the company, which over the last 10 years has focused on quality in the vineyard and in the cellar, producing fine wines, with a strong personality and very representative of the territory. ANTIERI is a limited production wine, obtained from relatively young vineyards in the Nardò area.
The grapes are hand-picked in the second and third ten days of September. We then continue with hand sorting to allow only the best grapes to contribute to the production of this high quality wine. This is followed by the maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation phases carried out in stainless steel vats. At the end of malolactic fermentation, the wine, after stabilisation, is transferred and aged in French oak barrels, where it will stay for at least 12 months. Finally, the wine will be further refined in the bottle for another 6-9 months.
ANTIERI Susumaniello is a resolute, fresh, balanced wine with great body. It has an intense and impenetrable ruby red colour. A wine that knows how to be strong but also graceful, managing to impress with its complex and delicate aromas. There are fruity and spicy notes that highlight blackberries, ripe cherries, black pepper, vanilla and cloves. It has a long finish in the mouth. A great Susumaniello that enriches the offer of this great winery in Salento.

Aging: 15 months in French barrels
Description. A wine of a time long gone, of distant memories and fresh recollections: a sense of ripe cherries, hints of sour cherries, a warm and pleasant seduction of blackcurrants, soft spices and light almond notes.
The term "Ripasso" identifies the production process of the wine "Valpolicella ". It also causes a second fermentation of the wine, which increases its alcoholic content.

Serving temperature: 18 - 20 °C
